Teen Wolf: 'Tattoo' (3x01)

I'm fairly new to Teen Wolf, I started watching the first season a few weeks ago with my sister when we found it on demand at home, and the rest is history! (2 seasons in 3 days #nolife WHAT WHAT)
However, it's a show I had been meaning to watch, and marathoning shows is one of my favorite guilty pleasures.

The third season started off with Isaac, one of Derek's betas, on a motorcycle with a mysterious girl, both trying to escape from two alpha werewolf twins chasing them. We learned at the end of last season that a whole pack of alpha werewolves are now in Beacon Hills, and it seems like they will be the main villains for season 3.

The twin werewolves have this weird ability where they can come together and turn into one giant werewolf...I hope we find out more about this soon. The girl (does she have a name?) and Isaac escape from the mega-alpha twin because of a stun gun she uses, but they end up in the hospital. Isaac's fast healing werewolf abilities make for confusion at the hospital, but luckily Scott's mom is his nurse.

We find Scott and Stiles at a tattoo parlor, Scott attempting to get a tattoo, but it heals and goes away. (Fun fact- it's the actor's actual tattoo that they are working into a storyline). Scott has been getting his act together: reading books, doing 'teenager' things, and staying away from Allison all summer!

Meanwhile, animals have been acting very strange in Beacon Hills. A deer runs through the windshield of Lydia's car, Lydia's dog bit her for the first time ever, and a flock of crows flies though a classroom window. But are these occurrences because of Lydia or the alpha pack that's in town?

Scott goes to get Isaac from the hospital, which is infested with the alpha pack. Kali, one of the alphas goes after the unknown girl, and another goes after Isaac. Scott tries to rescue Isaac, there's a cool fight scene in an elevator (with the signature dubstep music WUB WUB WUB) but Scott is no match for an alpha, so Derek to the rescue! He has his sassy one-liners, and he and Scott take Isaac to Derek's crumbling shell of a house. Derek gives Scott his tattoo with a blowtorch, ouch, and there is a bit of Derek and Stiles bromance (yes I'm a fan of that).

I was upset that the unknown girl that helped Isaac was killed off so soon, but maybe she won't actually be dead? The new villain Deucalion is intriguing, I want to find out more about him.

Odds & Ends:
1. Jackson shouldn't have been written out, I wish Colton Haynes stayed on the show! So much potential with last season's finale.
2. I was bothered by the alphas that weren't wearing shoes in the hospital! Wouldn't a nurse or doctor or someone notice that? Plot hole.

Maybe it's not the greatest show, the CGI isn't great but that somehow makes it endearing? It's a fun show with an exciting plot, interesting and complex characters, and even though it's an MTV show I'm a big fan. My biggest complaint is all of the commercials! But maybe I'm just spoiled from the premium channels. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I'm looking forward to this season have 24 episodes rather than the usual 12!
